Headspace Hockey was created to fill a gap in hockey development—bridging the mental and physical aspects of the game. Our mission is to help young athletes thrive on, and off, the ice.
This is the foundation of our program. Athletes learn to fail in a supportive environment where we correct behaviors, not judge character, and foster camaraderie among participants.
Drill mills are boring and unhelpful. We keep our classes intentionally small to each player gets personalized attention and guidance.
Our trainings are cognitively faithful to the challenges of the game, which helps kids develop both mental and physical speed while keeping things engaging.
We create truly fun environments which boosts learning retention and makes students want to come back.
Athletes must feel like they have mastery of a skill while under pressure, otherwise the skill goes out the window in a game.
Four games after training camp with the Detroit Red Wings, I fractured my skull. It was not my favorite day.
My body eventually healed, but it took a significant toll on my mental health, highlighting a hard truth: I was simply not prepared for the mental challenges the OHL and NHL threw my way.
Decades later (ouch again), I'm surprised by how little has changed – the mental side of the game is largely ignored, and the training hasn't kept pace with science. That's why I founded Headspace Hockey.
Our program combines skill development with mental fitness to create complete athletes. Reach out to learn more or get started today.
