About Us

Josh Chambers, L.P.C.

Lead Instructor & Founder

I grew up in Detroit and did the full hyper-competitive tour: AAA programs like Little Caesars and Compuware; world tournament in Quebec; National Championship in Boston; U.S. National Program at 15; drafted to the OHL at 17; and an eventual Detroit Red Wings tryout at 18.

To prepare for training camp with the Red Wings, I hired a skate doctor and got to experience firsthand (and maybe for the first time) the power of precise, individualized training (more on that story here). By the time we were done, I was physically ready. But, four games into the season, I fractured my skull. Blurg.

While my body eventually healed, the mental toll was profound, giving me new insight into the psychological side of recovery.

Over my career, I broke 15 bones, learned a lot about resilience, had a few great coaches, quite a few bad ones, and saw firsthand how the intense pressures in sports leave a long-lasting imprint.

When I began coaching my daughter, I was surprised that we were still running many of the same drills I grew up with. Sure, some are timeless, but many are now obsolete due to the evolution of the game.

And then there's the mental side of the game. Mental fitness is a huge gap in hockey development. Players are pushed to skate faster and shoot harder, but they’re rarely taught how to handle pressure, stay focused, and bounce back from setbacks.

Today, as a licensed therapist, hockey coach, and dad to two kids, I bring together my background in hockey and psychology, combining cutting-edge training with sports psychology to help build confident, resilient athletes.
